How to Close a Window on Windows 11
What you need: A Windows 11 computer with the window you want to close on the screen.
Steps
- Look at the upper-right corner of the window. Three buttons sit side by side: a short line (Minimize), a square or two overlapping squares in the middle, and an X (Close).
- Move the pointer onto the X. It turns red, and a small box may show the word Close. Click the X. The window closes, or a message about saving your changes appears.
- If a message asks whether you want to save your changes, choose what happens to your work. Click Save to keep the changes, Don't save to close the window and lose the changes, or Cancel to go back to the window and keep working. If you click Save and a Save as window opens, choose a place and a name as in steps 6 to 8 of How to Save a Document in the Documents Folder on Windows 11.
Expected result: The window is no longer on the screen.
